By the early 90’s Nirvana was the band of the moment – indie was ‘in’.
FFF (originally Fluff) were from Rhyl in North Wales and I asked them to record an original Eric Stewart & Graham Gouldman compostion called “Then There’s A Knock At The Door” for Song For Europe ’95.
We had some success as booking agents to Brotherhood of Man after they won A Song For Europe with the band going on to represent the U.K. in the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest where they won a landslide victory with the pan-European smash hit, “Save Your Kisses For Me“.
It always was problematic submitting young acts for this competition, and to this day it is still an enigma as to what makes a Eurovision hit!?
